Treaters
The PETKUS Continuous Chemical Treater is suitable for all crops where a throughput rate of up to 25 t / h with high efficiency is required. PETKUS Continuous Chemical Treaters can be used with most liquid treating agents. Up to four different treating agents can be applied simultaneously. Incrustation of the seed as well as coating is possible. All of the chemical treaters meet the standards of the "Biologischen Bundesanstalt" (Biological Federal Institute) and have been tested and certified.
During product design, special attention was given to the independent seed dosage and chemical agent dispersion. In the synchronized and extremely precise chemical treatment process the individual grain characteristics are of little importance. The seed is volumetrically metered over the hopper into the generously sized spraying chamber. An even product flow into the spraying chamber is ensured by means of a rotary valve with specially beveled cells. In the spraying chamber the seeds are sprayed by using a rotating distribution disc which creates an even product veil making it possible to achieve a constant and uniform coating without blind spots even at a high throughput rate. The treating agent is sprayed in a fine mist below the distribution disc, surrounding the product and ensuring an even coating. In the second mixing chamber, the seeds are thoroughly and intensively yet gently mixed using a back and forth agitating motion from the mixing paddles. A user friendly touch panel makes operating the machine easier and controls the complete treating process.
PETKUS Batch Chemical Treaters are gentle on the seed and operate according to the rotor-stator principle. They are universally usable for almost all agricultural crops. Treaters of these series are multifunctional and meet today's modern demands in regards to treating, incrustation and pelleting of seed. All pesticides, including fertilization, dyes, polymers or other coating compositions can be simultaneously or sequentially applied with different treatment times and intensity in a single batch.
The product design philosophy of PETKUS Batch Treaters combines form and function. The shape of the stator is conical, tapered and equipped with deflectors. The seed is purposefully directed back into the stator center. The stator itself is optional lined with a synthetic material that reduces product adhesion and offers a self-cleaning effect. The electro-polished rotor and its smooth stainless steel surface also prevent chemical or polishing agent adhesion. The dosage of the chemical agent and additives is done via inductive flow meters. The seed is assigned by means of a precision electro-pneumatic batch scale and gravimetric dosing.
The application and seed quantities are measured continuously, and thus the actual and target values are compared and automatically adjusted during an ongoing process. The various application recipes can be saved. Each treated seed lot is logged with an “Application History” and can be secured and documented externally via USB storage.
The PETKUS Chemical Mixer Type 200 is used for mixing seed dressing. The robust, low-wear construction and adjustable processing intensity allow for easy practical handling and have proven themselves in daily use.
The 200L cylindrical mixing tank contains an impeller type mixer which is driven by an external bipolar motor. The liquids are mixed intensively at first with a high rotation speed and then mixed gently at a lower speed.
The seed dressing is filled into the mixer through a flap in the cover. Scales with control panels can be integrated to ensure precise weighing of the different liquids. Water can be supplied through a nozzle connection and a float indicates the fill level in the mixing tank. The tank is emptied through a spout located at the base of the tank and the well mixed seed dressing can be pumped directly to the treater.
The PETKUS/ROEBER MultiCoater "CM" newly defines chemical treatment, encrusting and pelleting. The PETKUS CM uses air cushion technology during the encrusting and pelleting of seeds, which not only allows for gentle-handling, but the subsequent drying and reduction of dust abrasion. All treatments, including diluting agents, dyes, polymers or other pelleting and coating substances, can be applied subsequently and/or at different times and intensities. Within a single batch and machine, the product can be treated and dried simultaneously. Encrusted or pelleted seeds need not be dried in any further steps and as such an individual grain remains an individual grain.
The MultiCoater works according to the rotor-stator principle. Seed is loaded into the mixer batch-wise. The dosing of the chemical agent and additives is done via inductive flow meters. The seed is fed in by means of a precision electropneumatic batch scale and gravimetric dosing. The chemical agent and seed quantities are measured continuously and thus the actual and target values are compared and automatically adjusted throughout an ongoing process. A perforated spraying disc creates an extremely fine dispersion of the chemical agent at a wide spraying angle. The rotor and stator are made of smooth, electro-polished stainless steel, so there is no chemical agent residue adherence. Deflecting elements made of plastic, with a form similar that of an aircraft wing draw the seed into the middle in an optimized and aerodynamic manner, ensuring excellent mixing.
The highlight of the MultiCoater is its sophisticated air management. Air passes through nozzles and an adjustable gap between the stator and rotor. This creates an air cushion between the stator wall and the seeds which dramatically reduces the friction stress. Towards the end of the coating process the air flow rate can be, increased in order to further dry the seed. Coated seeds do not need to be dried in another process step.
